At Lebo UMC, we have a simple hope: to see people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their Christian faith through prayer, cooperation, and encouragement. We’ve been helping spread God’s good news here in our hometown and throughout the world for generations, and we pray that God will continue to use our congregation. Whether you’ve been attending church for years or haven’t stepped into a sanctuary in decades, we hope you’ll come and join us Sunday if you’re looking for a church in our hometown.
When you come to join us for the first time, one of our greeters will be glad to help you feel comfortable. If you’d like, they’ll help you find the nursery (which is fully staffed and safely run), restrooms, sanctuary and, of course, coffee and doughnuts at our morning Gathering Grounds before service.
During the service, you’ll hear our faith expressed in the songs we sing, prayers we offer up and our pastor’s preaching. All parts of our service are grounded in biblical truth, which we are committed to upholding.
No matter what your Christian background is (or isn’t), we hope you’ll join us on Sunday. Here at Lebo UMC, you’ll find people of all sizes, stripes and colors, and we welcome everyone – including you. Our Gathering Grounds begins at 10 a.m. with service following at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. We can’t wait to see you there!
OUR VISION
Lebo UMC: Experiencing Christ Together
At Lebo UMC, we see a vibrant, Christ-centered family where people of all ages—new visitors, children, youth, and lifelong members are joyfully welcomed into a loving community where they feel seen, valued and at home from the very beginning. Eyes light up as newcomers are greeted with genuine smiles, and young people find a place where they are known, valued, and free to be themselves. We see children eager to come through our doors and youth engaging in faith that matters. Lifelong members are treated with grace, kindness and mercy. Our dream is for a rich, multigenerational environment where children, youth and adults alike are empowered to share, explore and deepen their faith journeys.
We hear the sounds of life and faith all around us—worship that stirs the soul, the laughter of children in the halls, the real conversations of youth wrestling with big questions, and the prayers of people standing together in hope. Visitors hear their names spoken with care, and young people hear encouragement that echoes beyond Sunday. We envision helping each person, young and old, discover and develop their God-given gifts so they can serve effectively in ways that bring meaning and purpose.
We feel the warmth of community— a handshake at the door, a reassuring hug, a high-five from a youth leader, or a gentle touch on the shoulder in prayer. Everyone who enters, especially those visiting for the first time, experiences what it means to belong. We envision joyful smiles, a deep sense of belonging and first-time jitters replaced by caring touches and laughter. Our children’s ministry is a vibrant space where faith is planted, nurtured and celebrated, where kids not only learn about God but experience His love in ways that stay with them for a lifetime. Our youth feel safe to open up, to question, and to grow without fear.
We taste the joy of connection—through shared meals, communion, coffee with friends, and snacks served with love in youth gatherings. Every bite and sip is a reminder that faith is not just spoken but lived out in everyday fellowship and hospitality. Here, we show up for one another, in seasons of joy and sorrow, with compassion, care and a commitment to walk together in grace.
We smell the familiar and comforting scents of a place that feels like home—fresh coffee, food prepared for a gathering, or the well-worn pages of a Bible passed from one generation to the next. These aromas carry a message: you are welcome here, and this is sacred ground.
We desire to be a safe and welcoming home where you are embraced just as you are, encouraged to stand boldly in your beliefs and valued for the unique person God created you to be. We dream of a church where visitors quickly feel like family, where children and youth are excited to invite their friends, and where every generation grows in Christ together. This is a place where faith is not only taught but tangibly experienced, where each person is invited to be nurtured into a fully devoted follower of Christ. We see families growing closer to God together, choosing baptism and building faith foundations that lead to a lifetime of full devotion to Christ and the multiplication of His Kingdom through their lives.
