Rebecca Knight
Hello – My name is Becca Knight, and I am the preschool director at Bright Beginnings! A little about me – I grew up in Lawrence, KS and moved to Lebo after marrying my husband Nathan Knight in 2010. I worked as a nurse in family practice until we had our children, Reed and Ava. It was a blessing to be able to stay home with them while they were little. When they began school full time, I was excited for the opportunity to join Bright Beginnings Preschool. To me, there is no greater responsibility than that of training up the next generation.
Jesus makes it clear in Mark 10 the importance of children – “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them and blessed them.” Jesus, the Son of God, was not too important or too busy for the children. Instead, He got down on their level, scooped them up into His loving arms, and blessed them. I believe it is my responsibility as a believer and as a preschool director to make sure all the children in our community know how loved, how valued, and how precious they are to Jesus; so much so that He would lead a sinless life, knowing He would die on a cross meant for a criminal, bearing the burden of our sins, so that we would no longer be separated from Him but be offered eternal life with Him in Heaven. What a loving, kind Savior we serve!
Besides teaching preschool, I enjoy being outside with my family – camping, boating, waterskiing, and watching our kiddos at all of their sporting events! If you really want to get me talking, just ask me about my kids… or KU basketball! (But don’t tell Pastor Shane 😉)
