I grew up on a farm near Abilene, KS and graduated from Chapman High School and then Kansas State University. I married my college sweetheart, Toni after which we lived in Texas for six years before returning to Kansas to raise our then one year old son and the daughter that was on the way.
I answered the call to ministry in 2000, serving churches in the brethren in Christ denomination before returning to my United Methodist roots in 2008 where I became the Family Life Minister at Emmanuel Church in Abilene, KS. After becoming the Lead Pastor at Emmanuel from 2011-2017, I was appointed to the Shawnee UMC in Kansas City, KS for three years, St. James UMC IN Bellevue, NE for two years and then Louisburg UMC in Louisburg, KS. Toni is an Art Teacher at Gardner-Edgerton High School where she has taught for the past seven years after teaching high school art in Abilene for 15 years.
I love hunting, fishing, Kansas State football, and spending time with our grandsons. If you really want to get me talking, ask me about surrogating pheasant chicks!
